Dear Max Motors,
I purchased a 2011 Ford F-250 XLT 4X4 Crew from Max Motors on December 19. I had been to several dealerships in my area and looked at many on the internet. It seemed that if I found a truck I liked, I could not get the price I wanted. Then I went to ebay and found a likely vehicle at Max Motors in Butler, MO, about 230 miles north of where I live. I called the number associated with the ad on ebay and spoke to a young man named Blake. After a short conversation, an email and another phone call, I had purchased the truck! Over the phone, yet! This was a Saturday and when I told Blake I could not come get it til Thursday, he said, “Oh, no problem. We can deliver it for a hundred bucks.” I was flabbergasted, but I quickly agreed asking only what to do if I did not like the truck. He responded, “Just tear up the paper work and send the driver home.”
The truck was delivered right on time. I loved it. I kept it. I signed some papers and gave the title and keys to my trade-in to the nice driver and a few days later, I received my copies of the title, etc., in the mail. The best part of the whole process? They made an offer for my trade-in from my description and some emailed pictures, and it was better than any other offer I had. Terrific way to buy a car and Blake was fantastic. I’ll be replacing my wife’s care in a couple years. You can bet I’ll call Max Motors again once I’ve decided what I want– and I’ll buy the thing over the phone in my underwear! I certainly know I can trust them.
Thank you for a terrific truck-buying experience. I’ve bought many vehicles from dealers over the last 35 years, and this is the ONLY time I’ve actually enjoyed the experience.

Purchasing a vehicle on EBAY is risky in the sense that you are buying an expensive asset sight unseen, trusting people you’ve never met at a faraway dealership. Those companies that are worthy of this risk should be singled out, and rewarded with personal recommendations.
